a. Described as an "oatmeal maker", he submitted a letter of attorney, 19 Sep 1647, for the collection of dues from the estates of John Rowning and Simon Ray, father and former deceased husband respectively, of his wife, Mary Rowning. He purchased land in Bridgewater in partnership with Henry Neale in 1648, and removed to Block Island in Newport in 1670.
